"Chet" is a 2018, AQHA, dun gelding that stands a stocky 14.2 HH. He was trained as a reined cowhorse by his previous owner with limited showing as a 4 year old in NRCHA. In 2023 he was put on the back burner due to the new owner's health issues. He was ridden and shown by a young rider, doing well in a couple of open shows, with a Reserve High Point in Youth. He is an extremely good mover with a soft jog, nice extended trot and smooth lope, making him competitive in the pleasure classes as well as ranch horse classes. He has placed well in showmanship, horsemanship, ranch riding, trail and reining classes. But his favorite is the cow work where he likes boxing, but loves taking them down the fence and circling. He can have a stubborn streak, so he wouldnt be a good match for a timid rider, but when we had a confident 11 year old beginner on him they got along fine. He does have a scar on his left rear hoof from injury as a weanling, but it has never caused him to be unsound. He is currently barefoot with no issues, but has been shod in the past.
